Your professional summary is the most important section when changing careers. It should:

- Name the role you're targeting (not the one you're leaving).
- Highlight 2–3 transferable skills that directly apply.
- Show enthusiasm without sounding desperate.

## Step 2: Reframe Your Experience

Don't delete your old jobs — reframe them. For each role, ask: "What did I do here that's relevant to my target role?"

List skills that are valued in your target field. If you're moving into tech, highlight analytical tools, data literacy, or project management methodologies. If moving into marketing, emphasise communication, copywriting, and audience analysis.

## Step 4: Get Certified (If Needed)

A short course or certification signals commitment. It doesn't need to be a full degree — platforms like Coursera, Udemy, and Google Career Certificates offer respected credentials.

## Step 5: Use the Right Template

Choose a CV template that emphasises skills and summary over chronological work history. A functional or combination layout works best for career changers.
